About Our Agency
GEICO has been in Hampton Roads since the 1960s. Holestin Insurance has been the local face of it on the Peninsula since 2009, and plenty of the families who signed up that first year are still with us. Nobody in this office is learning on the job. Most of our agents have been writing insurance for the better part of twenty years, and you can hear it in the questions they ask. Anybody can print a policy. Knowing which coverage actually holds up when something goes wrong takes a while to learn. So we take our time. We ask about the house, the commute, the kids, the boat sitting in your driveway, and then we tell you what we'd do. Sometimes that means telling you you're already covered and don't need to buy anything from us today. Whether you're 22 and insuring a first car and an apartment, or you've got a house, three vehicles, and a business to protect, we can handle all of it: auto, home, renters, landlord, flood, umbrella, motorcycle, RV, boat, and more.

Greg started in insurance at 20, as a sales agent for one of the largest carriers in the country. He was good at it right away. Within a few years he was running a sales floor, then a service team, and then training other agents for the company. In 2009 he went out on his own. He founded Holestin Insurance Agency and earned a direct appointment from GEICO, which is not something GEICO hands out casually. That made his the only GEICO Exclusive Agency on the Peninsula, and it put him in charge of a name people around here had trusted since the 1960s. Fifteen-odd years later, it's one of the busiest insurance offices in the region. Ask Greg how that happened and he won't talk about marketing or sales numbers. He'll give you the same line he's given every person he's ever hired: "Always, always, always put the needs of the customer first." Do that, he says, and the rest sorts itself out.
